Most of you have probably heard the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has made a decision to stop supporting cellular service that uses 2G technology. The FCC is requiring upgrades to all cellular towers by January 1, 2017.

Why is this important? This is extremely important for those who have 2G technology currently because cell towers are currently being upgraded to new cellular technologies daily. By January 1, 2017, 2G will no longer be supported. As a security company, we want to be proactive and make sure the cellular device in your home sends the signals to the central station in a timely and accurate manner. We have seen 2G technology work one day and the next day signals are sent intermittently or not sent at all. Reliable service is always our goal.
